Welcome to Alpha Sigma

Alpha Sigma, the oldest local sorority in Wisconsin, has had a significant impact on the campus life of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and has positively influenced the lives of thousands of young women who have attended the university. Originally founded in 1898 as the Aureolia Society, the organization was restructured to its present form in 1931. Alpha Sigma sorority was organized to promote the social, intellectual, and personal growth of young women and has its designation as a social sorority.

Membership in Alpha Sigma is designed to help bring out the best in the young women that become members. The desired result of your membership is to help you grow as a leader, to help you promote and prioritize your academic success, to give back to the community through philanthropic projects and campus involvement, to build sisterhood and friendship with women who will support YOU as an individual, and to live in a manner that is moral, decent, and which promotes goodness and kindness toward others.
